The
Swedish Welsh Springer Spaniel club is associated to the Swedish Spaniel and
Retriever Club - SSRK. The breed standard is almost the same as the English
breed standard except for one thing, we don't dock the tail in Sweden it's not
allowed sins 1989.
WSSK was first formed in august 1980; in December the same year there were 82
members in the club; today it's approximate 1000 members in Sweden as well as
from abroad. Several
contact groups
around the country can tell you about the breed and what's going on in the
area. They use to hold courses in trimming, showing, tracking and obedience.
Sometimes they just meet and take a walk together.
Club Show the annually big inspection of the breed is organized the second
weekend in August, it's used to be approximate 150 to 200 participators who
comes for this big event. The Club Obedience and Agility is organized during
the autum.
The yearly Club Game Tracking Trial is organized during the spring.
Welsh Nytt
is the name of the membership paper and one will have it four times a year.
The puppy
agency is a club service for the puppy buyer where one can have
information about current litters and litters who is comply whit the puppy
agency. approximate 350 puppies are born in Sweden every year.
